Beyonce Declined Kim Kardashian's Bridesmaid Offer? Singer 'Turned Her Down'

Beyonce reportedly declined an offer to be one of Kim Kardashian's bridesmaids during her upcoming nuptials to Kanye West.

The Grammy award-winning singer, widely subbed the "Queen of Pop," was reportedly surprised when Kardashian, 33, requested that she join her bridal party. The E! reality TV star announced her engagement to West, 36, in October and fans are anticipating the couple's Summer wedding.

"Kim has been boasting to pals that Bey wants to be a bridesmaid, but Beyonce turned her down flat. Bey doesn't want anything to do with the Kardashian clan. From sex tapes to crack addicts, they're too controversial," a source told Star magazine.

"Beyonce doesn't even take Kim's calls, so she was shocked when she got a voicemail begging her to be a bridesmaid," the insider explained. "This is a woman who doesn't care how close a friend you are, all she cares about are big names."

In November Beyonce fans launched a petition via Change.org entitled "BEYONCE CANNOT ATTEND KIM KARDASHIAN'S WEDDING." The petition, which garnered hundreds of signatures within days, was designed to ensure that Beyonce does not attend Kardashian and West's wedding, but was later exposed as a joke.

For months, fans have opposed the idea of the pair potentially becoming friends as critics argue that Kardashian's claim to fame could ultimately cheapen Beyonce's image. The reality star rose to stardom in 2007 following the release of a sex tape, while Beyonce's vocal ability helped her reach international stardom at a young age through the award-winning girl group Destiny's Child.

"Kim has wanted to be friends with Beyonce forever. From the moment she started dating Kanye, it was her goal to hang with Bey," a source told Life & Style magazine.

"Kim and Beyonce aren't tight at all, but I don't think Kanye is going to approach Jay-Z with that nonsense. He's about making money and making music and he's leaving the temper-tantrums to the girls," another source told Hollywood Life.
