Bieber Won't Be Charged for Punching Photographer in Shopping Mall Incident (Photo)

Justin Bieber won't be charged for allegedly hitting a photographer outside a California shopping mall, reports have confirmed on Wednesday.

The altercation took place five months ago in a mall in Calabasas, California, when Bieber allegedly battered the photographer. However, despite charges hanging over his head for the past months the Los Angeles County District Attorney has confirmed charges will now not be filed, according to celeberity rumor site TMZ.

Apparently the LA County District Attorney office was unable to gather enough evidence and had received conflicting witness accounts, and so decided that filing charges against Bieber would not ultimately be successful.

Police had passed the case onto prosecutors to examine the evidence against Bieber, according to the Associated Press. The incident took place on May 28 outside a shopping mall, when Bieber, who was with his girlfriend Selena Gomez, lashed out at a photographer who was bothering them. The photographer had accused Bieber of kicking him in the abdomen and punching him.

Photographer Jose Sarros alleged that Bieber punched him in the face during the scuffle, and he had to receive medical treatment with paramedics being called. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but then released soon after.

Other witnesses have claimed that paparazzi had been blocking Bieber and Gomez's route to his car, and were preventing him from leaving. After being unable to make his way past the reporters for a while Bieber got angry and got into an altercation with a photographer.
