Black Friday 2012 Apple Sale: Discounts on iPods, iPads and More

There will be a black Friday 2012 Apple sale where devices such as the iPad, iPod, MacBook Pro and iMac will be discounted significantly.

Apple posted a teaser page on its Australian online store for a "1-day Apple shopping event" set to take place on Friday Nov. 23, the day after Thanksgiving that is known to Americans as black Friday.

"The one-day Apple shopping event is Friday, 23 November," wrote Apple. "Get ready to give. Shop online or visit your favorite Apple Retail Store. We'll help you make the most of the day, no matter how you shop."

Black Friday is normally reserved for Americans, since the day is special due to it taking place after Thanksgiving. However, Apple will be offering these sales to customers all over the world through its online and retail stores.

Offers for Black Friday include the iPad 2 with anywhere from $41 to $61 off, the iPod nano with $11 off, the iPod Touch with anywhere from $21 to $41 off, the MacBook Air with $101 off, MacBook Pro for $101 off, and the iMac for $101 off.

Third-party merchants are expected to offer even better discounts for Black Friday.

The iPad Mini, 4th generation iPad, and iPhone line all appear to have been left out of the company's holiday discount plan.

The fourth-generation iPad starting arriving in Apple retail locations last week.

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the fourth generation iPad last month after unveiling the device alongside the new iMac , and iPad Mini.

In addition to the beefed up A6X chip, the device also features a new Lightning port at the bottom, making the tablet a lot faster and bringing it up to speed with the recently released iPhone 5.

Apple also promises that Wi-Fi capabilities on the new iPad will be twice as fast as the previous model.
