Bleach Bids Farewell After 8 Years
Tooth and Nail Records rock and roll band Bleach have decided to end the eight-and-half-year-old band by the end of this year due to strains of the tour schedule and the desire of the band to spend more family time. The band will continue performing at shows in the spring and music festivals in the summer to top it off with a farewell tour scheduled from August 11 to 29.
Lead singer Davy Baysinger holds no regrets from the band’s decision to say farewell.
"The last eight and a half years have been amazing, " comments lead singer, Davy Baysinger. "I can honestly say they have been the best years of my life. I feel like I've been able to live a dream, with my very best friends. We've always done our best to be honest and up front, about who we are, and the things we've dealt with--the victories and the losses. It’s been about so much more than shows and music. The goal for us has always been to bring hope to people who are without it. This band was based on the idea, that somehow, we could really make a difference. I wouldn't change a thing."

The band originally began from Kentucky Christian College in Grayson, KY. It has now grown to include members Milam Byers, Sam Barnhart, Jared Byers, Jerry Morrison, and Davy Baysinger. Kicking off with it’s national release, Space, in eight years, the band have garnered fourteen top 10 radio singles and a Dove Award.
Of plus thousand shows Bleach has performed, they have never limited themselves to sharing their songs of human struggles and joy to only the Christian venues but has also brought their songs of hope to clubs and bars.
"We’ve always believed that we were not just a band for Christian people only," explains guitarist Sam Barnhart, "and that what we have to share is relevant to all people who deal with the human condition. It’s in the bars and the clubs that God has given us amazing opportunities to share the hope He’s given us. We’ve been able to demonstrate that to people that would never set foot in a church."
Even though there is no turning back to play in Bleach, Baysinger feels God will continue to use him.
“While I don’t know yet exactly what I’ll be doing come September, I know that it will work out. God has provided for us for the last eight and a half years, so I know He’ll put us where we need to be,” says Baysinger.
Barnhart reflects, “Being in Bleach has been one of the most amazing experiences in my life, "says Barnhart. "It's given me the opportunity to see amazing places and allowed me to meet so many amazing people--not to mention being able to rock out with my best friends. I just want to say thank you to all the people who have allowed me this opportunity and to all our friends who have supported us through the good times and the bad times. I pray we leave behind not just a legacy of music - but of hope."
