Bobbi Kristina Home After 'Nervous Breakdown' Following Houston's Death

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the 18-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, is recovering at home after she suffered a "nervous breakdown" in the wake of her mother's sudden death in Los Angeles.

Family members have been concerned over Bobbi Kristina's well-being following Houston's tragic passing in a hotel bath tub in Beverly Hills. Kristina was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital Saturday night and again Sunday. She was released Sunday night.

A source close to the family told People.com that Kristina was treated for stress and anxiety.

An extended family member told Us Weekly that the teen was devastated by Houston's death and suffered a "nervous breakdown."

"Everything [was] stressful," Billy Watson, the brother of Patricia Houston, the late singer's sister-in-law, explained to Us Weekly.

"Her mama died, so she broke down. Nobody expected her to pass as quickly as she did. [Bobbi Kristina] had a nervous breakdown."

Watson added that Kristina was doing "OK now."

Family members were worried that Kristina might be suicidal, telling TMZ that she was "hysterical, exhausted and inconsolable."

Bobby Brown canceled a Sunday concert performance in Nashville and flew back to Los Angeles to be by his daughter's side after her hospitalization.

"My daughter did visit with doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles," Brown said in a statement Sunday.  "She has been released and is presently with my family, including her siblings."

"Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her, however, we will get through this tragedy as a family. Again, I ask for privacy during this time."

President Obama is also among those concerned about Whitney Houston's daughter. He is praying for her, according to the White House.

The President's Secretary Jay Carney released a statement on Monday that said Obama's "thoughts and prayers are with Whitney Houston's family, especially her daughter."

Obama, who was an "admirer" of Houston's "immense talent," also said, "It's a tragedy to lose somebody so talented at such a young age."

Houston died at the age of 48. She was known to have struggled with drug and alcohol abuse but the cause of death is not yet known.

Relatives of the singer told TMZ.com that prescription drugs and alcohol might have been the cause. Toxicology results will not be available until a few more weeks.
