Boston Red Sox vs Detroit Tigers Live Stream: Watch Free Online ALCS Game 5 Playoffs (Fox TV Schedule)

Boston Red Sox vs Detroit Tigers in Game 5 of the ALCS takes place on Thursday night with the series tied up at 2-2. It has now become a best-of-three series, with things guaranteed to return to Boston for Game 6. Tonight's Game 5 will start at 8.07 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

Boston had looked to have swung momentum their way after winning consecutive games to go 2-1 up. However, the Tigers came out swinging hard in Game 4 and claimed a convincing 7-3 win to level the series back to 2-2.

A five run second inning did most of the damage, combined with two further runs in the fourth. Although the Red Sox responded and tried to fight back, ultimately they were only able to claim single runs at the top of the sixth, seventh and ninth innings.

Game 5 will be the final game to be played at Comerica Park before things move back to Boston, and the Tigers will now look to claim another home win and move within one more win of the World Series.

The pitching match up in Game 5 will be a repeat of Game 1, with right-hander Anibal Sanchez (14-8, 2.57 ERA, 1.15 WHIP in 182 regular season innings) and left-hander Jon Lester (15-8, 3.75 ERA, 1.29 WHIP in 213 1/3 innings) taking to the mound as starters.

Sanchez managed to get through Game 1 without giving up a single run, but was forced out through a high pitch count after only six innings. The Tigers won that game 1-0, and Sanchez struck out 12 while walking six.

Night games will suit Sanchez, as he pitched quite a bit better at night during the regular season. On night games he managed a 2.34 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, where as in day games he only managed a 3.23 ERA and 1.14 WHIP.

Meanwhile, Lester had a great outing in Game 1 too, and held the Tigers to just one run in 6 1/3rd innings. He seems to pitch significantly worse during the night though, and during 2013 he posted a 4.23 ERA and 1.35 WHIP at night, compared to a 2.84 ERA and 1.19 WHIP during the day.
