One "C" never felt this good.

A British dad's overwhelmingly joyous celebration of his once failing son who recently scored a "C" on his national math exams is now drawing praise from around the world and has gone viral.

His son who posted a two-and-a-half-minute video of his reaction to YouTube titled "The day I passed maths (sic)" under the user name ariamark on Monday, explained his academic struggles and what getting the "C" meant to him in the About section of the video.

"Hey there everyone the man in the video is my dad :). I year before this video I was at a grade F in math and in England you need a C (pass) to basically do anything with your life, ive never been amazing academically and have struggled through out (sic)," he explained.

"Neither me or my dad or my teachers thought I was going to get my C, I know some of you might be saying , well an c is nothing but for me it was hard to get (sic)," he said.

In the video the boy sets up a camera in what looks like a kitchen in the family home and tells his father to join him there because he wants to show him something.

"I just got something for school I need you to come look at it," he tells his father.

When his father eventually joins him in the kitchen he hands him a folded slip of paper and tells him "don't freak out."

The father then slowly unfolds then stares at his son's magnificent C then asks with almost disbelief: "Is that real? Is that real?"

When his son responds "yeah," he breaks out with an animated "my God" and appears to weep with joy as his son hugs him.

He then looks at the slip of paper again and asks his son "are you sure," as his son switches on the light to help him see his achievement clearer.

"I can't believe it. I just can't believe," the father continues as he congratulates his son with more hugs and continues staring at the beautiful "C."

Despite his joy the shocked father said to his son "they haven't made a mistake have they?"

He assured him again that the examiners hadn't.

The boy's father then noted to his son, "But you did so little work," before telling him, "you're set for life now. You're set for life," and walking away.

As of 2 pm EST, the video had been viewed over a half million times on YouTube and viewers acknowledged the boy's father as a positive model.

"Kid, you're going to be alright. If you have parents who care about you THIS much and if you're willing to put the effort in, chances are your life will turn out pretty great," wrote Patrick Staal.

"What a great surprise for your father. As a parent I think it's great to see his reaction and how much he loves you and is happy for you. Your hard work really paid off and you deserve all the praise and congratulations you're getting," noted Jim Kitchen.
