Burglar Causes Thousands of Dollars in Damage to Bible College

A burglar broke into a Colorado Springs Bible College early Thursday morning, local time, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

According to the Denver Post, police officers responded to a call at 4:53 in the morning regarding a report of a burglary in progress at the Nazarene Bible College. The Post reports that a security guard at the college heard someone breaking things and running around inside the building.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers saw a man “dressed in black running down the hallway, swinging an object, and smashing overhead lights,” according to the Post.

Jeffrey Sweatt was taken into custody. It is alleged that Sweatt broke into the building through a ground window.

Police report that a second building was also burglarized with substantial damage.

The charges against Sweatt have not yet been revealed.
