Amanda Bynes has threatened to sue media outlets over a report claiming the troubled actress was escorted out of a gymnastics class for acting "strangely."
In recent months the former Nickelodeon star has raised concerns about her mental well being due to alleged troubling behavior. Claims were revealed Monday that the 27-year-old actress arrived to an exercise class in New York City wearing a racy outfit and wig, and at one point was allegedly seen crying when her hairpiece fell off.
"She showed up in fishnets and a leotard that looked like lingerie ... She immediately started acting strangely. She lined up with the other gymnasts, and each took their turn to perform a roll. But Amanda just walked out on the mat, was spinning around in circles and mumbling to herself," an unnamed source told New York Post's Page Six.
"Later, when the others were performing cartwheels, Amanda did a cartwheel, but her wig fell off, and she sat down and cried," the source continued.
The report also claims Bynes was eventually asked to leave after continuing to "mutter to herself" and disrupting others as they tried to perform exercises.
"She went two weeks in a row, but the second time, she was escorted out," the source added. "Staff were concerned about her manner and worried she might be a hazard to other people in the class."
Bynes characteristically took to social networking site Twitter where she threatened legal action over the report.
"I'm suing every blog saying I was kicked out of gymnastics. What is wrong w/ u people? What would u do if u found fake stories about u?" Bynes tweeted.
Bynes' family is reportedly urging the former child star to move back to her native of California where they would be able to keep a close eye on her. Bynes abruptly moved to New York City approximately six months ago, and some believe that her behavior may be a cry for help.
In addition to the alleged gymnastics incident, there have been reports of raunchy tweets targeting fellow celebrities; frequent makeovers which include a cheek piercing; several random solo outings; publicly smoking unknown substances; driving mishaps and ongoing legal woes.
During one solo outin,g Bynes was spotted at Equinox gym where she appeared to be dazed, according to the New York Daily News. She reportedly began talking to herself, and onlookers witnessed her asking and answering her own questions.
At one point Bynes was also seen repeatedly seen on an elliptical bursting out laughing hysterically "for no reason," according to the publication.
In February, Bynes received widespread criticism after she randomly tweeted a photo of hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and labeled him "Ugly face." In March she posted a sexually explicit tweet about rapper Drake.
"I want @drake to murder my ------," Bynes tweeted March 21.
