Jessy Lopes, a 26-year-old Rhode Island rapper popularly known as J2 NYCE who is currently battling cancer, broke down in desperation during one of his chemotherapy sessions Thursday, declaring "I want out." He was quickly lifted from his dark place with prayers of support from friends and well-wishers.

In a video posted to his Facebook page Thursday, Lopes declared to his friends and fans in frustration, "I don't want to do it no more."

"Yo, shout out to everybody that is fighting cancer man. This chemotherapy is not the sh**. Man I swear to God. You walk in this building you start feeling sick instantly. I don't want to do it no more. I really don't want to do it no more," he lamented.

As soon as he posted the video, however, prayers of encouragement started pouring in.

"Hey Jessie, me and my daughter just saw your video and she wants to tell you not to quit and I want to tell you that there is a higher power, named Jesus and he says all you have to do is have faith as big as a mustard seed,(which is actually very small) and he will move mountains for you, I can imagine its tough but please don't lose your faith and remember the only one who has been defeated is the enemy, if God can raise the dead imagine how he can heal the sick! Keep your head up!!!! Love you!" wrote Melissa Nieves.

"Ya video had me tearing up at work I don't think I've ever seen u like that ... Hard to watch but you'r[e] a fighter my n*gga and it's hard but your guna [sic] beat the shit out that cancer b****, keep ya head up and keep fighting. Nothing but love for ya," wrote Brianna-Nicolle Bates.

Lopes later told his supporters that he was inspired by their support and thanked them for it.

"What a day.....THANK YOU ALL....I hit a very weak point today being at chemotherapy. They tried calming me down with many different meds. But nothing was happening, so I turned to my phone to bang some music but instead I started reading. Reading the comment of prayers and support and it kept my mind off of how I was feeling, so Thank You All for being there and extracting me from the nasty smell and sick feelings.......you's are the sh**!!!!" he wrote in a message on his Facebook page.

Lopes describes himself as one of Rhode Island's best rappers and despite never finishing high school and not growing up with his father, he continues to strive toward his dream of working on engines and being a graphic artist.

"My godmother named me Jessy an[d] My Mother added Da Lopes. Don't know my father so [expletive] it I'm a bastard, But God placed me in Pawtucket, R.I. and I raised myself in the project we all call 'Prospect Heights,'" he said.
