Carolina Panthers vs Philadelphia Eagles Live Stream FREE: Watch Online NFL Monday Night Football (8.30PM ET)

Carolina Panthers vs Philadelphia Eagles is the NFL Monday Night Football game this week. Both of these teams had high hopes coming into the season, with both Cam Newton and Michael Vick carrying the expectations of thousands of fans on each of their shoulders. Sadly neither of them have been able to deliver this season. Both teams will be desperate to claim elusive wins tonight. The Monday Night Football game is scheduled to start at 8.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

In the pre-season natter both of these teams had fans who were talking about hopes of a Super Bowl appearance. However, things could not have gone more wrongly for both sides. The Panthers come into this game with a poor 2-8 record and sit rock bottom of the NFC South. It would take an immense turnaround in fortunes for Carolina just to move off the bottom spot.

Meanwhile, the Eagles have just a marginally better record with 3-7 coming into this game, but also are the basement team in the NFC East. A win today for them would not do anything immediately about that, and Philadelphia would need to put together a series of victories to just move up the divisional table.

Recently the Panthers' coach, Ron Rivera explained that he had held conversations with team owner Jerry Richardson, and indicated that he was led to believe he would not be replaced mid-season. That means no change in the coaching staff until at least the end of the season, but many must be wondering whether all that's left for him this season is to string together a good run of form just to try and keep his job. For Rivera though, that pressure also relates to his players, many of whom have disappointed greatly this season, and it is likely they will be fighting as hard as they can for one another and themselves not to be pushed out the door come the end of the season.

"I don't know what's going to happen, and I won't know until after the season. I know that much," said Rivera. "And I know that nothing's going to happen until after the season. So what our guys have to understand is that they're playing for now. They're playing for each other."

It all could have been so different. Had the Panthers learned how to see out leads then they could have been in the mix for the playoffs right now. The Panthers are the worst team in the league at holding on to the lead in the fourth quarter.

Recently they scored a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth quarter to go 11 points up with just 4 minutes 34 seconds remaining. They blew it. They lost to the Buccaneers via an overtime TD.

The Panthers just cannot close out tight matches; they are 0-6 in games that have been won by seven points or less. Everything that could go wrong seems to have gone wrong for them this season. Incidentally they are reportedly 0-11 on coin flips this season. That just about says it all.
