Carolina Panthers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers is the big NFL Thursday Night Football game tonight, with the Panthers looking to keep pressure on the New Orleans Saints in the NFC South with another win. The game will start at 8.25 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

Today's Thursday Night Football clash will pit the second placed Panthers against divisional rivals and basement team, the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are still without a win this season coming into Week 8, and will be desperate to finally record a win tonight.

The Buccaneers have been fighting hard in recent weeks, but their defense has just been making too many basic errors and giving away too many points for their offense to keep up with.

In Week 6 Tampa Bay lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 20-31, and last week they again conceded more than 30 points in a 23-31 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

The Tampa Bay offense has been much better in the past two weeks, averaging a more reasonable 21.5 points per game. However, through the season until now they are ranked 31st in the NFL with just 14.5 points per game. With so many problems on both sides of the ball, they are seriously struggling to claim that first win.

The Panthers meanwhile have experienced somewhat of a revival in recent weeks and will want to continue that momentum with another win today. They have won two straight games coming into this clash, and they will be confident they can make it three in a row now.

Last week they gained a confident win over the St Louis Rams 30-15, meaning they have scored 65 points over the past two games, while only letting through 25 points.

Cam Newton is 108 of 170 for 1,331 yards and 10 touchdowns. However, the Panthers have been more effective on the rush than pass, ranking 7th on rush with 130.2 yards per game. On pass they are ranked just 28th in the league with just 197.3 yards per game.

If the Panthers can win today they will maintain pressure on the division toppers the New Orleans Saints who are 5-1. However, if they lose then the Atlanta Falcons will have the opportunity to tie for second place if they can win against the Arizona Cardinals at the weekend.
