Casey Anthony Being Baptized to Start 'New Beginning'

Casey Anthony is reportedly preparing to start a new life, which means embracing religion and being baptized, according to new reports.

The disgraced 26-year-old wants to put her controversial past behind her once and for all and allegedly hopes that a baptism will "ensure her own salvation" according to Radar Online.

"Casey has planned to get baptized sometime this month. She figured getting baptized would be the best way to start this new chapter in her life. It's a new beginning," a source told Radar.

Anthony was acquitted in the murder of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee last year, despite admitting that she had accidentally drowned in her presence and staging the scene to make it appear as though her daughter had been murdered.

"Casey believes that Caylee is with God now and wants to ensure her own salvation so that she'll see her daughter again someday," the source added.

Although some jurors questioned Anthony's innocence during the trial, many claimed that the evidence presented by Florida prosecutors was insufficient, resulting in the "not guilty" verdict.

"I did not say she was innocent," Jennifer Ford, who had previously only been identified as juror no. 3, told ABC News. "I just said there was not enough evidence. If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be."

The case sparked public outrage after a series of inconsistencies were established on Anthony's part, including the mother denying that she knew where Caylee was for several months before her body was finally discovered in a wooded area near her home.

Anthony was heavily criticized for her constant lies regarding Caylee's death, which led to speculation that claims that her daughter accidentally drowned in the family swimming pool were untrue.

Dr. Jan Garavaglia, who had examined Caylee's body after it was discovered, said that the toddler was murdered, which gave credence to the theory that Anthony's drowning claims were lies.

"It was a homicide … without a doubt!" Garavaglia told renowned journalist Anderson Cooper on his syndicated talk show "Anderson."
