Casey Anthony Interview Offered for $750K

Los Angeles-based TV producer Scott Sternberg has been fishing for a network to purchase the first Casey Anthony television interview.

Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of murdering her two-year-old daughter in July, has steered clear of the media since her controversial trial.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, many sources claim Scott Sternberg Productions is asking for a licensing fee ranging between $500,000 and $750,000. Sources aware of the proposal told The Hollywood Reporter that Steinberg would co-produce the interview and allow the prospective networks to choose the interviewer.

Several cable networks have already declined the offer. Discovery Communications' TLC and ID, and A&E Networks, which includes Lifetime and A&E, have all passed on the program.

A network spokesperson from HLN told The Hollywood Reporter that the network had not been pitched the idea, but that it would not pay for an Anthony interview anyway.

MSNBC has also not been approached, but sources at NBCUniversal, which owns the cable channel, also told The Hollywood Reporter that they would not purchase an interview with Casey Anthony.

NBC News, ABC News and CBS News have all publicly stated that they would not pay for an Anthony interview.

One unidentified cable source told The Hollywood Reporter that news channels would face a financial roadblock in purchasing an interview with Anthony.

“It will get very good ratings. But who would want to put their ads in that kind of show?” the source said.
