Casey Anthony, Subject of 2 New TV Specials Airing in January

Casey Anthony, long the subject of American interest, is now the subject of two TV specials airing this month. The first, "True Crime With Aphrodite Jones" will air a special episode entitled "Casey Anthony: Bella Vita" on Jan. 14, and Lifetime TV's movie, "Prosecuting Casey Anthony" airs on Jan. 19.

"Casey Anthony: Bella Vita" will examine the case step-by-step and feature an interview with Judge Stan Strickland, who preceded Chief Judge Belvin Perry, Jr. In that interview, Strickland makes the claim that Anthony's defense attorney Jose Baez was "an inexperienced lawyer who was in over his head," according to The Orlando Sentinel.

The episode also features interviews with Brad Conway, the former attorney for George and Cindy Anthony, Steve Helling of "People" magazine, and Judge O.H. Eaton, Jr., an analyst for WESH-Channel 2 News. All provide their unique views on Anthony's life and the case itself, which riveted the nation.

"I got to know Casey. You didn't," lawyer Jose Baez tells Investigation Discovery, producer of "Bella Vita." He termed the prosecution's case as "weak at best."

Of course, those familiar with Anthony and the case will recognize the title "Bella Vita" is a play on the tattoo Anthony herself got while daughter Caylee was still missing. Her attorney told the court that she got the tattoo "as a tribute" to her daughter, according to The Christian Science Monitor.

The Orlando Sentinel deemed the episode "worth a look" for its "unusual and eye-opening take on the headline-making case."

Meanwhile, Lifetime TV is finally airing its made-for-TV movie, "Prosecuting Casey Anthony." The movie will focus more on the story of lead prosecutor Jeff Ashton, who wrote a book about his experiences during the trial.

"With in-depth information about the case and the accused, 'Prosecuting Casey Anthony' examines what the prosecution got right, what they got wrong and why Ashton remains convinced of Casey Anthony's guilt," Lifetime's website states.

"True Crime With Aphrodite" will air its special episode on the Investigation Discovery channel on Jan. 14.

"Prosecuting Casey Anthony" airs on Lifetime channel on Jan. 19.
