Casting Crowns "Live From Atlanta" Certified Platinum By RIAA

Casting Crowns, Christian music’s top-selling new artist this year, celebrates the RIAA Platinum certification of its DVD/CD project Live From Atlanta (9/14).

In addition, the band performed its hit “Who Am I” before a crowd of approximately 20,000 at a Bush-Cheney ‘04 Campaign rally Wed. Oct. 27 at the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich. Friday morning, Oct. 29, ABC’s “Good Morning America” featured the band in a music segment focusing on how each presidential candidate has incorporated music into their respective campaigns.

Live From Atlanta debuted No. 1 on the Nielsen SoundScan Top Christian Music Videos chart and at No. 12 on the overall Top Music Videos chart. The new project offers an inside look at the group via live performances and in-depth interviews with band members, and also showcases the band’s first music video, “American Dream.”

Casting Crowns continues to impact radio this week with its current single, “Voice of Truth” reaching No. 5 on R&R Christian AC Monitored charts and No. 3 on R&R Christian AC Indicator charts. The single also claims the No. 5 and 8 spots on the R&R Christian Inspirational Monitored and Indicator charts, respectively. “Voice of Truth” debuted on the R&R Christian CHR radio chart this week and, according to CRW, the song’s cumulative audience impressions topped 9,557,400.

The success of Live From Atlanta underscores the impact made by the band over the past year as the group’s self titled project, released Sept.30, 2003, reached Gold status in June 2004, just eight months after its release.
