Chris Brown's father recently voiced concerns about his son's relationship with Rihanna, revealing that the tumultuous couple is not a good match.

Clinton Brown, 48, reportedly believes that Rihanna, 25, and Brown, 23, are too similar in nature to maintain a steady relationship. The Prison officer claims his son would be far better off dating a more "conservative" star.

"I personally liked Jordin Sparks. She's a wholesome young lady, very pretty. Of course, a lot of the times we don't want the nice, conservative types," Clinton told The Sun UK.

Brown dated Los Angeles based model Karrueche Tran, 24, for two years after his infamous 2009 split from Rihanna and Clinton revealed that he approved of their union saying the pair got on "terrifically" when they were together unlike his relationship with Rihanna.

Brown and Rihanna parted ways after he admittedly assaulted her in 2009, however four years later they reconciled.

"One has to assume because they are back together that it wasn't one-sided," Clinton said about the domestic assault incident. "You just have to imagine that it was a circumstance in which they both had a disagreement."

In 2012 he publicly opposed the idea of a reconciliation between Brown and the Bajan singer. The pair was often photographed together fueling rumors that they had decided to give their relationship another try.

Rihanna confirmed their reconciliation in January 2013.

"I am always concerned about him… He can make his own decisions. But, as a concerned parent, I would rather they not have any involvement," Clinton told Star magazine in 2012.
