Chris Brown recently revealed that he is single following his split from Rihanna however a source claims the singer is secretly dating Karrueche Tran after reportedly ending his relationship with the Bajan singer for her.

In May Brown, 24, and Rihanna, 25, reportedly ended their tumultuous relationship over his friendship with Tran. A source claims to have unveiled why exactly the "Fine China" singer chose to be with the model, 25, over Rihanna.

"Chris is happy with her. She gets him. She really understands him. She's low-key the one. S--- is just easy and breezy [with Karrueche]," a source told

In 2009 Brown was convicted of assaulting Rihanna during a domestic dispute and although he apologized and accepted full responsibility the singer has never been able to regain the public's support. While Rihanna previously revealed that she has forgiven Brown for the assault he continues to receive widespread criticism four-years later and Tran has reportedly been a strong source of support during the difficult times.

"She knows what he wants and what he expects and she's cool with it. He always talks open to her, tells her exactly what is on his mind and how he feels about things. In the end, it always works out," the source explained adding "She holds him down and is always there no matter what."

The report comes just one day after sources revealed why Brown and Rihanna's on-and-off relationship will never work. One insider claims ongoing stress stemming from the domestic assault was the real reason that the pair will likely never reconcile.

"They went through a lifetime together ... They've had lots of ups and then a HUGE down.
Sometimes Chris can't even look at her because it reminds him of the s--- he did years ago. Even though she forgave him, the world hasn't," a source said.

"It still distracts him from his music and his life. It's always in his face and it's something he can't shake," the source explained about the assault incident, adding "You know, they tried it once and it was great. They tried it again and it didn't work."

On Tuesday Brown lashed out at the media over ongoing criticism over the assault. The singer alluded to an early retirement because he is fed up with the backlash.

Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album," Brown tweeted August 6.

"Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I'm cool & over it!" another candid tweet read.
