Worship artist Chris Tomlin was a two time recipient of a GMA Dove Award on Sunday in the category "Praise & Worship Album of the Year" for Burning Lights.

He also received an award for the collaborative album, Passion: Let the Future Begin for the "Special Event Album of the Year" category.

Tomlin just completed what turned out to be the most successful tour of his 13-year career with the "Burning Lights Tour" this spring.

His average show attendance went up 53 percent above his last tour in 2011-2012, and selling out 25 of his shows in big cities such as: New York, Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago with other shows reaching well above 10,000 tickets sold.

"The Burning Lights Tour" picked up again this fall and will pass through 21 cities since beginning Oct. 3. Accompanying Tomlin on the tour is Louie Giglio, Pastor of Passion City Church and Passion founder, according to a press release.

Tomlin is celebrating the recent RIAA Gold certifications of his 2010 album And If Our God Is For Us... and his 2009 Christmas album Glory In The Highest: Christmas Songs of Worship.

And If Our God Is For Us... won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album in 2012 and Glory In The Highest: Christmas Songs of Worship peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Holiday albums chart.

"I'm so honored to celebrate these two Gold records. It takes an incredible team! My name may be on the plaque, but I know all the work that goes in to it from many, many people and I am so grateful. I am honored to write songs for the Church. Long after Gold records fade, record labels fade and the earth fades, the Church will stand. I am so humbled to be a part of that Church," Tomlin said at a Christian music event in Atlanta, Ga.

Tomlin has nine albums, 12 no. 1 radio singles, a Grammy Award, two Billboard Music Awards, and 21 Dove Awards as well as a platinum and four Gold records.
