Colorado Rockies MLB Trade and Roster Rumors: Rockies Interested in Bringing Back Jonathan Lucroy
It appears that re-signing Jonathan Lucroy may be one of the Colorado Rockies' top priorities this offseason.
According to MLB.com's Thomas Harding, the Rockies are expected to pursue Lucroy this winter. The impending free agent has already expressed his desire to stay in Colorado.
"It's always great to be involved in a team that's hunting the same goal, hunting the same thing — a championship ring," Lucroy said before the Rockies' 11–8 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in National League wild-card game earlier this month, via MLB.com.

He also admitted that he's "absolutely" interested in staying during an interview last month.
"As a free agent, you look at a lot of things. I look at things even more than money. I want to know what teams are going to be in there," Lucroy stated, according to the Denver Post. "Look, I'm a 31-year-old catcher, so I have to get going. I want a ring, or two, or three. And I think the opportunity is definitely here for that to happen," he added.
Well, he'll definitely get the chance to compete if he stays with the up-and-coming Rockies. A reunion with the All-Star catcher is definitely possible for the Rockies since the interest is mutual, but they will have to remember that Lucroy's going to be in demand this offseason.
Colorado acquired Lucroy from the Texas Rangers before the nonwaiver trade deadline in July for a player to be named later (which turned out to be outfield prospect Pedro Gonzalez).
Lucroy's experience behind the plate came in handy when the Rockies were making a run for a playoff spot, and he has earned high praise from Rockies manager Bud Black for his play this season.
The team should really consider bringing Lucroy back next season. The two-time All-Star finished the campaign with a 0.265/0.345/0.371 slash line.
