Constitution Day Puts Liberals and Tea Party At War
On Constitution Day, it is fitting that the Tea Party has a new opponent in the form of a collation liberal group called Constitutional Progressives, a radical left-wing effort to push back the efforts of constitutional conservatives.
Constitution Day is a federally designated holiday created by the late West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd in 2004. The law requires all public schools to devote some time to teaching the Constitution on this day each year.
Last week in South Carolina, Republican candidates pledged to uphold the Constitution, saying the U.S. government has strayed far from its origins. The Constitution has enjoyed a surge in interest over the past few years with the Tea Party’s focus on the founding fathers but is it unclear if the Tea Party had an impact on today’s curriculum in the public school system.

"There is no greater threat to our values than the tea party’s effort to make America’s progress unconstitutional," said Doug Kendall who spearheads the group.
"For the first time, progressives now have a coordinated response to this theft of our Nation’s Charter. Building on the momentum of thousands of Americans who have already pledged to support the whole Constitution, progressives are taking the fight to the tea party,” said Kendall.
According to AmericanProgress.org, Constitutional Progressives explored an alternate universe through an intense video unveiled today where most of the twentieth century violates the constitution in hopes to spark a discussion of how America will change if the Tea Party succeeds in implementing its constitutional vision.
