Fans have also commenced a petition for the Democrats to sign up Betty White to be the mystery guest speaker in an attempt to counter Clint Eastwood's colorful speech at the Republican National Convention last week.

The petition, posted on change.org, states: "Clint Eastwood, the Republican's 'mystery guest' at the RNC, gave a bad name to older Americans everywhere with his absurd and awkward-to-watch introduction of Governor Romney. You know what? Governor Romney can have Clint Eastwood and his improvisational skills because President Obama has the one and only Betty White!"

Just under 6,000 delegates are expected to attend this year's Democratic Convention at the Time Warner Cable Arena. Attendees will see First Lady Michelle Obama, Keynote Speaker and San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro and former President Bill Clinton, speak during the first two days of the event.

DJ Cassidy, Ledisi, Amber Riley, former American Idol contestant Jessica Sanchez and Branford Marsalis will also take the stage.

On Thursday, Obama will officially accept the nomination at the Bank of America Stadium which has capacity to seat over 73,000 people.
