Denise Richards Skinny: Actress Blasts Critics, Enjoys Ice Cream and Grilled Cheese

Denise Richards has fired back at critics who accused the actress of being too thin in recent weeks.

The 42-year-old has been spotted out and about in Los Angeles appearing thinner than usual as of late. Consequently, photos displaying Richards' sinewy arms and a gaunt face have made several headlines.

However, Richards does not understand what all the fuss is about.

"I don't know why lately I've been getting so much flak for [being skinny]," the actress told Extra while at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Saturday.

"I have a very healthy lifestyle and I'm busy," Richards added. "I have a daughter who's almost 2 that I carry all the time. She's just under 30 pounds."

Despite not paying gossip any heed, the "Wild Things" star is concerned about the media's affect on her daughters.

"What bothers me is I have three daughters, and I'm such an advocate for health and fitness … in moderation," said Richards, according to Extra. "We eat ice cream all the time. I had grilled cheese before we got here."

Furthermore, the actress posted a defiant message to Twitter about her eating habits.

"Yum! And yes I ate... #craftservice #junkfoodonset," the actress wrote on Monday along with a photo of a donut covered in colorful sprinkles.

Meanwhile, Richards often takes to Twitter about her daily life, including her children. The actress shares daughters Lola and Sam with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, and is also mom to Eloise, whom she adopted last year.

The actress wrote Saturday, "Sami & Lola are my dates for the @RADIODISNEY awards… they have their dress picked out!"

True to her word about a "healthy lifestyle," Richards mentioned ice cream last week.

"A fun date night with my girls… mani/pedis & ice cream… #blessedmama," wrote the actress.
