Destiny PC, PS4, Xbox One Release Date: PC Still Has No Confirmed Date, But Consoles Set for September 2014 Launch

Bungie has been famously known for being the creators of the multi-billion dollar sci-fi shooter franchise, "Halo." Their first game as a new stand-alone game company is the highly anticipated sci-fi first-person shooter/adventure game "Destiny."

The game will be available for the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on Sept. 9. The official release date is seen on the header of an article on Bungie's official website. The article was written by the company's Assistant Community Manager DeeJ and it was about how "Destiny" was to define the company's independence.

The PC port for "Destiny" is rumored to come out in March 2015 on Steam, but there has been no official word from Bungie about a PC version of the game.

"Destiny has always represented a new beginning for our team," DeeJ wrote. "It was born from brave possibilities. We dreamed of a renewed and independent Bungie. We found partners willing to bet big on some crazy new ideas with us."

The game was only announced a year ago but development already took place a long time ago.

"We first shared the design pillars of Destiny less than one year ago. We promised to redefine what players should expect from a Bungie game. We said we wanted to change the way people play games together. We set the bar high. For us, Destiny represents a once in a lifetime opportunity," DeeJ added.

For a lot of hyped-up fans, "Destiny" could be another revolutionary first-person shooter much like Bungie's first franchise "Halo."

The company created the game first as an exclusive release for Microsoft's consoles starting from the original Xbox up to the Xbox One. Now, Bungie has detached itself from Microsoft and declared themselves as an independent company.
