The game will feature 21-game winner Max Scherzer, as well as batting champion Miguel Cabrera in Oakland tonight, which should ensure some fireworks with the bat.

The mound will be a nervy place tonight, and both pitchers will have to be at their best if they are to navigate their way successfully past the host of batting talent on the other team.

The Tigers especially finished second in runs scored through the regular season, and they have been scoring consistently at ease through the season.

The Athletics will be aware of the firepower the Tigers have but it is unsure whether they will be able to nullify the offensive threat.

However, it's not only the Tigers that have power on the offense, and the Athletics finished just one place behind the Tigers in third for runs scored in the regular season.

The two teams met seven times through the regular season, with the Athletics having the slight edge, winning four of the seven. However, it should be noted that the Athletics lost two of the three games in Oakland.
