Last week's episode saw the biggest twist in the season to date as Dexter's relationship with Debra hit a new low point after Debra discovered that their father, Harry committed suicide because of his doubts over Dexter.

It had been rumored that Debra would attempt a murder suicide, and those rumors proved correct when Debra purposely steered her car into a lake. However, the murder suicide attempt was not successful, as Debra was saved by a good Samaritan. Then being unable be responsible for Dexter's death, she herself dived back in under the lake and saved him.

Tonight's storyline will definitely continue to build the complex picture of Dexter and Debra's relationship.

Another development was that Dexter broke ties with Dr. Vogel after discovering that she was keeping notes on him.

After finding out about the secret notes, Dexter told her that after the Brain Surgeon case is over, he wants nothing more to do with her.

Dexter also appeared to confirm that AJ Yates is the Brain Surgeon after finding his hidden cellar kill room and a victim that he stabbed and left to die.
