· Are sensitive to egg protein
· Develop allergic reactions to other shots
· Are receiving standard immunization already
· Are currently ill from other diesease and advised to wait a few weeks

Side Effects of Flu Shots

Mild

· a slight temperature under 101 degrees
· headache,
· aches and sores at site of shot.

Severe

· seizures
· a high temperature
· vomiting
· convulsions

· Handwash with soap especially before eating.
· Avoid sharing food and drinks with others even those in the family.
· Sleeping well at times can help the immune system naturally defend the body without vaccines.
· Having a diet with lots fruits and vegetables such as yellow squash, pumpkin, carrots and sweet potatoes are high in vitamin A, will protect the mucous membranes of the lungs and digestive tract.
· Vitamin C tablets will also help the immune system.

Getting a flu shot may be seem like the safest way to avoid an flu-spoiled winter but it is best to consult your doctor about the best option for your children.
