Dog Who Wouldn't Die Home After Being Shot in Face and Head (VIDEO)

A "dog who wouldn't die" is home recovering with his new loving owner after surviving an horrific ordeal in which he was shot multiple times in the face and head with a pellet gun.

The dog, who is called "Buck," was found on the side of a road in Conroe, Texas. A local found him in a garbage bag tied to a fence after he saw the bag moving around.

When the local looked in the bag he was stunned to see the badly injured and bleeding dog, according to The Huffington Post. Buck, a three year old mixed breed, was released from the bag by the local, but was clearly in a bad way with multiple pellet gun wounds across his face and head. He collapsed after taking just a few steps from the bag.

The shocked local then tried to contact animal control but was unable to speak to anyone. However, he remembered another local neighbor called "Tami Augustyn" who had a reputation as an animal lover, and so he decided to call her for help.

Augustyn immediately came to the aid of the dog, and transported him to a veterinary clinic to treatment. There he was found to have hypothermia as well as multiple pellet gun wounds.

Animal experts explained that Buck had suffered severe injuries to his eyes, and could suffer permanent vision loss, according to The Huff Post report.

Buck needed extensive treatment at the vets, and Augustyn created a Facebook campaign, connecting to animal lover groups, to raise funds to pay for his emergency treatment fees. The campaign was called "Buck Needs Bucks for His Buckshot Injuries," and has so far raised more than $10,000.

The donations helped to pay so that Buck could have emergency surgery on his eyes, and he is now on the road to recovery.

Buck has found a new loving home with Augustyn, who must help to apply three types of eye drops five minutes apart every six hours, to help the pain and swelling on the eyes.

Augustyn is now trying to create a loving and caring environment for Buck at her home, and has followed up with Facebook followers, asking them to pray for Buck to recover from his extensive injuries and the trauma he went through.
