"Duck Dynasty" star Korie Robertson recently confessed being surprised when her husband Willie approved of their daughter Sadie's appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" this season.

The proud parents are in the "DWTS" audience when Sadie and her professional dance partner Mark Ballas perform each week, but there was a time when the 17-year-old model needed her parents' permission to join season 19 of the ABC series.

"When Sadie first asked me if she could do 'Dancing with the Stars,' I was a little bit unsure, because, you know, it's a little scary putting your daughter out there," Korie told Us Weekly.

Instead of giving her daughter an answer right away, Korie let her husband Willie made the final decision.

"I actually thought Willie would say no, so I told Sadie to ask her daddy," Mrs. Robertson continued. "But Willie said, 'Well, you know, you're 17-years-old, if that's something you want to do, go for it.' I mean, my jaw dropped."

The Robertsons' involvement with their daughter's "DWTS" career did not just end there though. In line with their strong Christian beliefs, Willie Robertson plays an active role in Sadie's costume selection each week, approving each design before she heads to the ballroom dance floor. Even from across the country, Willie video chats with his daughter about which costumes are too provocative. In one video on ABC, the CEO of Duck Commander dismissed every dress selection of Sadie's.

"That is not a dress, that is a dish towel," Willie said in the clip.

Fortunately, the conservative costumes have not created any lack of support for Robertson. In fact, the model has quickly become one of the most popular contestants on this season of "DWTS."

"I have full say in what I wear in my costumes," she told E! News. "The wardrobe's great and they do anything that you say or that you want. Everybody on the show has full say on their costumes. So it's not really like 'Dancing with the Stars' has to be a sexy costume if you're on it, it's just that's what they choose and that's what I could choose to wear… So everybody has full say in what they wear and so I've never felt any pressure or any hate."
