'DWTS' Season 13 Finalists’ Weight Loss

“DWTS” finalists Ricki Lake and Rob Kardashian have not only lasted on the show for nine weeks, but have shaped up their figures along the way.

Like many contestants on the show before them, the celebrities-turned-dancers have each reported weight loss.

The reality television star on “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” has lost “a lot of weight,” according to his professional dance partner on “DWTS” Cheryl Burke.

“His whole physical appearance has changed, the dancer told People magazine of Kardashian. “He’s using different muscles. He’s super sore all the time. I’m not sure if he’s changing his diet but cardio is really good.”

Burke shared that she believes her partner lost the most weight while learning the jive in just the first week on the show, “because it’s so fast-paced.”

The finalists Kardashian and Burke will return to the dance floor continuing the competition for the mirror ball trophy on Monday.

Also slimming down with rigorous dancing on this season of “DWTS” is finalist Ricki Lake. The former talk show host has lost over 20 pounds, and reported losing twelve inches in just the first three weeks of the show.

“It’s not a bad way to get in shape for your wedding,” she told People magazine.

While Lake has certainly slimmed down, she says her weight battles are not over as obesity is something the actress has had to combat since childhood.

"I wasn't educated about food and portion control, and I was also the victim of sexual abuse," said Lake in an interview earlier this year on ABC's "The View," explaining the factors she believed led to her obesity.

"It happened at a certain age when I was really young and a couple of years after that is when I started to put on the weight," she said, referring to the sexual abuse she encountered.

The 43-year-old actress said that her weight loss from "Dancing With the Stars" is much different from the crash dieting she did years ago to get herself down to 120 pounds because she is not only eating healthier, but the vigorous dance routines are helping to tone her muscles.

"I'm definitely a size six now," Lake said on the show. "I'll probably be a size 4 by the end of it. It's come to the point where it doesn't matter. I no longer wear Spanx."

Requiring physical strength and finesse, learning dance steps and routines cause major changes to the body. Past “DWTS” cast members such as Kirstie Alley, Marie Osmond, and Jennie Garth also experienced weight loss after appearing on the show.

Finalists Kardashian and Lake as well as J.R. Martinez will return to the dance floor on ABC’s “DWTS” Monday at 8 p.m. EST.
