England vs. Sweden – Watch Online Live Stream, Euro 2012 Group D

The Euro 2012 Group D match between England and Sweden will kick off at 2.45 p.m. EST, with the game being televised live on ESPN 2. The game can also be watched on online through live stream on ESPN 3 by clicking the link below.

England will be wanting a victory in their second game of the tournament, following their 1-1 draw with France in their first match. During that game England, who were greatly disrupted in their preparations for the tournament by a change in manager and various injuries, seemed happy to concede a lot of possession to the French, and were happy with the 1-1 result. They will, however, be fancying their chances a lot more against Sweden and will be looking to be more positive in this game.

Wayne Rooney remains suspended, serving the second game of a two match ban, and England will be wanting to create a good foundation for his return to spark some much needed momentum further into the tournament.

Sweden had a torrid time in their opening match, losing against Ukraine in a match most would have expected them to win, or at least draw. That result means the pressure is on for Sweden to get three points from this game. A draw would not mean the end of their tournament, but would leave them on the brink as they go into their third and final game against France next week.

Sweden captain Jonas Thern has been highly critical of England in the past few days, saying, "Their style of play is predictable."

"I said before the Euro finals started that Sweden would beat England and I stand by that statement despite the horrific display against the Ukraine. England's performance [against France] had none of the quality they like to boast it had."

However, Sweden would perhaps do better focusing on their own issues, after being greatly rebuked by their own fans and media following their opening game loss to Ukraine. Sweden will be looking to tighten up at the back, and in particular will have to address their frailties in the air; the Swedes have conceded six of their last seven goals in the air through headers.

England in fact scored against the French by a headed goal, and will be looking to capitalize on this clear weakness in Sweden's armory.

However, England have not beaten Sweden in their past seven meetings in competitive matches. In probably all of those seven games England were expected to have gained a result. They will be weary of that poor record against Sweden, but will be looking to rectify it in today's game.
