Evelyn Lozada Thanks God for LA Dodgers' Carl Crawford: I Thought Life Was 'Over' After Divorce

Evelyn Lozada recently opened up about her engagement to Carl Crawford, revealing that while she was once skeptical about her future, she now feels "blessed" and "complete" thanks to her fiancé.

The "Basketball Wives" star, 38, announced her engagement to the Los Angeles Dodgers star, 32, in December and the couple is just weeks away from welcoming the birth of their first child together. Lozada's newfound happiness comes more than one year after her infamous head-butting incident and subsequent divorce from NFL player Chad Johnson, 36

"I had the worst 2012, I thought my life was over ... It happened so publicly, and then the passing of my brother-in-law," Lozada told Life & Style magazine.

"But that entire incident [with Chad] led me to where I'm at now ... I would say my broken bridge led me to happiness," she continued. "If I had to do it again, I would because I truly feel complete right now in my life and I wouldn't change it for anything."

Lozada, who has as a 20-year-old daughter Shaneice from a previous relationship, has been involved with Crawford for close to one year. The MLB star is currently under contract of four more seasons at $86 million.

"He came into my life at a perfect time. Everything that happened makes me appreciate him 1,000 times more and he also makes me a better person," she gushed.

"I appreciate everything and I thank God every day for my life…I'm really lucky and really, really blessed," she added.

The Bronx native took to social networking site Instagram on Christmas day to share a photo of her 14.5 carat diamond sparkler alongside the caption "YES!"

The ring, which was custom made by Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills, has a 10-carat emerald cut center stone and is reportedly worth $1.4 million, according to DailyMail U.K.

"I'm overjoyed and in complete and utter shock!" she said previously. "What a different year and a half it has been – I'm truly happy!"

Lozada, who was once engaged to retired NBA star Antoine Walker, said that she is excited to have a baby boy.

"He's going to give me a run for my money! I'm like, 'Oh my God, he's going to want to play and get dirty,'" she said. "I'm just looking forward to all these amazing things that come with having a boy and a baby."
