Farrah Abraham's Dad Defends Her Profiting From Appearance on 'Couples Therapy'

Former "Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham has switched networks and is now on VH1's "Couples Therapy" in a controversial move. Her father Michael has publicly stated that he is proud of his daughter no matter what she does, and that it never hurts to make a little money while on TV because that's just the industry Farrah works in.

"Let the truth come out! Supporters, we love you, wish you only the very best and appreciate each and every one of you! Haters, I can only pray for you and hope only the very best for you with hope that your heart will warm and your judgment traits will cease," Michael posted to his Facebook page last week.

Many have criticized Farrah for appearing on the show alone and allegedly making up a story about how she was left to do it alone by her boyfriend. Yet the man who was reportedly supposed to appear on "Couples Therapy" with her has come out and said it was a sham from the very beginning, just another way for Farrah to be on TV and in the public eye.

People did not take kindly to Michael's Facebook post and left their own comments about Farrah's actions and decision-making ability. One such commenter noted that Farrah was receiving quite a bit of attention for "Couples Therapy," which means a big payday.

"Is there something wrong with financial gain?" Michael replied. "We all work in some type of industry … and [the reality TV industry has] their twists and process, that if you're not in that industry, it's hard to understand."

Michael has always seemingly stood behind his daughter's actions, coming to her defense after the release of her adult video and now her appearance on "Couples Therapy." He and wife Debra will appear on the series later this season, meaning that the whole family will receive some "reality" therapy.
