'Game of Thrones' Season 4 Spoilers: Purple Wedding 'The Wedding of The Year'

Some "Game of Thrones" fans are still talking about last season's "Red Wedding" episode, which sent shockwaves through the community of those who love HBO's hit historical fiction drama. With filming for the fourth season already underway, it has been revealed that another wedding will be taking place. Will this wedding be as much of an event as the Red Wedding? Read on to find out, but be wary of spoilers.

George R.R. Martin, who penned the "Game of Thrones" book series, recently revealed some details about season four's wedding when talking with TV Guide.

"It's going to be the wedding of the year, and as memorable in its own way as our wedding last season. It's what the fans call the Purple Wedding, based on the color of the wine, which plays a big part."

It is expected that the forth season of the HBO drama will be heavily based on "A Storm of Swords" and "A Feast for Crows," which are the third and fourth books, respectively, in the series penned by George R. R. Martin.

When talking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner David Benioff also provided some exciting information about the upcoming season. It appears he is expecting big things for the new season.

"It's the toughest production schedule we've ever had," Benioff said. "We got more action, which is obviously more time consuming. It's a brutal shooting season ahead. But if we can make it through, yeah, I think it's going to surpass season three. The last three episodes, there's so many scenes we've been waiting for so long to do. And it just gets more and more fun to write for these characters."
