'General Hospital': Nelle's Real Backstory Is Slowly Coming Together

This week, spoilers hint at the looming reveal of the real backstory of Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier).

Recently, Nelle admitted to being the daughter of the deceased Frank Benson. Fans have always wondered about the letter that Nelle has been clinging on to, in which viewers were only able to see the words, "You owe me!" Added to that, the letter sender's identity was not revealed because it only says "Your Father."

Since Nelle revealed she is Frank Benson's daughter, many fans were quick to conclude that the letter was from Frank. They thought Frank was reminding Nelle of something he did for her, and that time, he wanted something in return.

However, as the pieces start to come together, it turns out that while the letter was really penned by Frank, there is still a bigger story about it.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the turn of events suggest that Jasper "Jax" Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) might have always known about Nelle and Frank's real relationship. The report suggests that when Frank was still alive, he would write all these letters to ask his adopted daughter, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), for monetary help.

However, when Jax was still with Carly, he was able to get a hold of all these letters and returned them to Frank without Carly seeing them, thus leaving Frank dying without any help from the daughter he adopted but abandoned. Now, Nelle holds that grudge even after their father died.

It might also explain how Nelle ended up becoming Josslyn Jacks' kidney donor (Eden McCoy). Celeb Dirty Laundry explained that Jax intercepted Frank's letter and thought that since Frank is so desperate for help he can be easily talked into convincing Nelle to sell her kidneys to save Josslyn.

This might also be one of the reasons why Nelle is very determined to bring down Carly and the rest of her family.

To be fair, if Carly chose not to give a penny to her adoptive father, it is because Frank initially left her and wife Virginia Benson while Carly was still a little child around the age of three.

'General Hospital' airs from Monday through Friday at 2 p.m. EST on ABC.
