George Zimmerman Verdict 2013: Lil Wayne, Kim Kardashian and Other Celebrities Respond
The "not guilty" verdict handed down to George Zimmerman, releasing him of charges of murder in the second degree and manslaughter has sparked outrage throughout the country. In response to the verdict, many celebrities and influential figures have shown support of the late Trayvon Martin and his family. Most turned to Twitter to express themselves, though some celebrities made bigger demonstrations of support.
Rapper Lil Wayne, who was performing in Florida on Saturday, tweeted, "Tampa was amazing but kame bak to my bus and saw da news…ain't [expletive] change, and I may never get to see it do so. I pray 4my kids & yours."
Fellow hip-hop artist Diddy also showed his support on Twitter.

"MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO TRAYVON'S FAMILY!!!! GOD BLESS THEM!!!!" he tweeted.
From the world of reality television, Kim Kardashian tweeted, "My heart goes out to Trayvon Martin's family & loved ones. Thought & prayers being sent their way #NoJustice"
Filmmaker Michael Moore, known for his anti-gun sentiments, also showed support through the social media site.
"Had a gun-toting Trayvon Martin stalked an unarmed George Zimmerman, and then shot him to death... DO I EVEN NEED TO COMPLETE THIS SENTENCE?" Moore wrote.
Outside of Twitter, other prominent celebrities have made even bigger statements of support. Young Jeezy released a song responding to the verdict on his Facebook page early Sunday morning. The song is called "It's a Cold World." Young Jeezy also wrote an explanation of the song.
"I am in no way shape, form, or fashion am trying to capitalize off of the latest series of events. These are my true feelings and my form of expression about it," the musician wrote.
Beyonce held a moment of silence during her concert in honor of Trayvon Martin. Her concert was held just 30 minutes after the verdict was announced, according to the Associated Press.
