Girl, 13, Raped at Gunpoint by 3 Men - Christian Organization Helps Find and Convict Attackers
In Guatemala, 13-year-old Griselda (name changed) was driving home from church one night when three men brazenly grabbed her from the car and raped her at gunpoint in a secluded place. She survived but was devastated with feelings of loneliness, guilt and fear of leaving her house.
A month later, she met with International Justice Mission, a Christian organization that "brings rescue to victims of slavery, sexual exploitation and other forms of violent oppression." The organization's work is based on Isaiah 1:17: "Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows." (NLT)
Counselors helped bring Griselda out of her loneliness, and IJM investigators and attorneys assisted police in arresting and convicting all three of her attackers. She and her mother share their moving story in this video from International Justice Mission.
