God, A Search Engine?
Do you expect God to produce instant answers like a search engine?
Need to find something? Music, information, pictures, chat rooms…answers? Well, welcome to the wonderful age of technology where all you got to do is punch a word, a phrase into the box with the flashing cursor, press “search,” and woahla: out comes what you wanted to find.
Things may work like that on the information highway, but not on the path of faith. Have we ever approached God as if were a search engine? We tell him what we want and demand instant results for us to pick and choose.
But we have to remember that God is not search engine we can simply extract answers from anytime we can sign-on to prayer.
There are a few things we should keep in mind as we pray to God in order for our prayers to be received by God. Even the internet won’t process what you input unless it receives your data.

1. God knows our deepest desires and motives even before we ask Him: "O Lord, You have searched me and You know me … You perceive my thoughts from afar. … Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely." (Psalm 139:1-4)
2. Even though God already knows all our thoughts and hopes, prayer is the key to unlocking the door: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. " (Matthew 7:7)
3. Didn't get what you asked for? Maybe there’s something better for you or it’s not good for you: "Every good and perfect gift is from above." (James 1:17)
“To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the reply of the tongue.” (Proverbs 16:1)
4.The motive of all our prayers should always be for God’s Kingdom and Will: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6: 33)
God isn't like Google. He won’t give you any answer that matches your keyword. God doesn’t need to answer your prayers by displaying a list of “search results: 1-257.” He gives only one answer: the best one. So, keep asking, seeking, and knocking with faith that whatever He gives you is the best offer you can expect to receive anywhere.
Before you pray, think about these three things:
· What am I searching for?
· Why should I pray?
· How do I know God answers prayer?
What are three things I should pray about today?
The more you ask, the more you can receive.
