Gwyneth Paltrow and her two children joined Jay-Z and Coldplay on stage during their Barclays Center concert on New Years Eve, and danced before the large crowd.
The actress was invited on stage by 43-year-old Jay-Z to join her husband, Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin as were the couple's children Apple, eight, and Moses, six, according to Mail Online.
The group danced the night away at the stroke of midnight before the Brooklyn crowd which included a number of celebrities.
Taylor Swift and her new boyfriend Harry Styles were spotted amongst the crowd, as were Christina Aguilera and Matthew Rutler and reality TV star Adrienne Bailon.
Bailon was among other lucky guests who were invited to attend a private party hosted by Jay-Z backstage. There the Grammy award winning rapper reportedly spent in excess of $400,000 on alcohol.
Jay-Z went all out for the occasion reportedly ordering hundreds of cases of Armand de Brignac Gold bottles, each said to be worth over $400, as well as a 30-litre Gold Midas bottle.
For Paltrow and Martin, both 39, the rockstar event was undoubtedly a contrast to how their family spent their Christmas celebrations.
The couple and their two children spent Christmas quietly in the Hamptons, a popular vacation place for Hollyood's elite.
Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce, 32, also own a home in the upscale area although it is unclear whether they were around for Christmas.
The two families have been close friends for years and often spend vacation time together with their respective children. In June they reportedly planned to embark on a road trip just six months after Beyonce gave birth to her and Jay-Z's first child.
"The two couples are planning a trip around Florida. Both Chris and Jay have been on intense world tours so they really need a break," a source told The Sun UK.
"Gwyneth and Beyonce think the jaunt, going back to nature on a high-end Winnebago, will be the ideal getaway," the insider said, adding that "it will be low-key but it's just what they need and they'll get to spend quality time together."
