Hailee Steinfeld, the break out star of "True Grit," landed a role in the upcoming thriller starring Vince Vaughn.
The 16-year-old actress is set to portray Cate in the big screen adaptation of "Term Life" in a deal with Universal Studios.
Based off the graphic novel of the same name, "Term Life" will see Steinfeld play the estranged daughter of Nick Barrow (Vaughn). In order to help his daughter, low-life Barrow takes out a life insurance policy despite needing to stay alive for 21 days and being pursued by mob bosses.
Peter Billingsley is directing the thriller comedy while Vaughn is also serving as producer alongside Micah Mason and Victoria Vaughn, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The project is still under development.
Meanwhile, Steinfeld rose to fame in 2010 with her portrayal of Mattie Ross in the Coen Brothers' "True Grit" which also saw Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin.
The film earned Steinfeld, then 14-years-old, a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2011 Academy Awards, jumpstarting her career.
Also, last year, Deadline reported that Steinfeld had landed a role in a yet-to-be-titled thriller opposite Kevin Costner.
The actress is just coming off of the success of "Can a Song Save Your Life" at the Toronto Film Festival. She will next be seen in the highly anticipated "Ender's Game."
Furthermore, Steinfeld plays Juliet in this year's "Romeo & Juliet," which hits theaters Oct. 11.
Alternately, Steinfeld's co-star in "Term Life" Vince Vaughn is a staple in comedy today. The 43-year-old actor is well known for his roles in films such as "Wedding Crashers," "Old School," and "The Break Up," among many others.
It will be Vaughn and director Billingsley's second project together; the pair worked on "Couples Retreat" in 2009- a film that earned $172 million world wide.
