Christian Evangelist Bradlee Dean Sues MSNBC for Slander

Heavy metal, Christian Evangelist Bradlee Dean is suing MSNBC and Rachel Maddow for slanderous comments made against him and his work.

In a press conference Wednesday, the founder of the Christian ministry “You Can Run But You Cannot Hide International (YCR),” stressed the point that he did not hate homosexuals, but rather he sought “their redemption, not their condemnation.”

Dean also stated that Maddow attacked him for his reference to Muslim opposition of homosexuality under Sharia law.

Rachel Maddow turned the spotlight on Dean during her show, The Rachel Maddow Show, for his connection to anti-gay gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer.

She also mentioned the comment Dean made on his YCR radio show, “Muslims are calling for the executions of homosexuals in America. If America won’t enforce the laws, God will raise up a foreign enemy to do just that.”

At the press conference, Dean said he did not condone the methods used by radical Muslims to enforce Sharia law, but used the analogy to raise awareness in Christians.

The lawsuit claims that Maddow was maliciously intent on destroying Dean’s ministry and harming the presidential campaign of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, who also shares pro-family values.

Maddow did say on her show that, “Mr. Bradlee later clarified that he didn’t really mean to sanction [the] murder of gay people. He said, ‘We never have and will never call for the execution of homosexuals.’ Which is nice.”

Dean however, believes that Rachel Maddow, NBC, and MSNBC intended to use his ministry to destroy Bachmann’s presidential campaign. For these reasons, his attorney Larry Klayman filed the lawsuit against Maddow and MSNBC.

Dean is suing for $50 million in damages.

He says, “I regret to take this action, but felt it necessary to protect my rights and also the countless others who believe in family values for our nation’s youth.”

MSNBC released a statement saying, “This suit is baseless and we stand by our reporting.”
