The CEO of Android and Google Chrome, Sundar Pichai announced plans to release this version of the device called the Galaxy S4 Google Edition at this year's Google I/O conference.

The Galaxy S4 Google Edition is expected to hit stores in June and will eliminate Samsung's TouchWiz OEM from the smartphone, replacing it with a pure Android layout, comparable to what is found on the Nexus line of smartphones and tablets.

Google worked closely with Samsung to create this Android Open Source Project.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 was released earlier this month in the U.S. and has been one of the company's most successful devices to date. Samsung was able to move around five million units in just two weeks time, according to one of the company's top executives, who recently did an interview with a Korean publication.

This breaks previous records set by the Samsung Galaxy S3. Google is sure to attract even more customers once it releases all of these different Galaxy S4 variants.

Samsung has reportedly invested billions of dollars in profits back into the company and plans to expand even more in the realm of smartphones and handheld electronics.
