HTC One X Wi-Fi Bug Fixed by OTA Update

AT&T customers recently received an update on their HTC One X smartphones that fixed a Wi-Fi connectivity issue that some users were experiencing, according to a report from YouMobile.org.

This OTA Update brings the phone to version 1.85.502.3 and it is around 64.5MB. It is currently available for all of AT&T's HTC One X users.

The update also brings other changes to the device, including an increase in Wi-Fi throughput that gives users improved speeds over Wi-Fi and AT&T address book fixes, where the contacts no longer get formatted when synced to AAB.

The long awaited HTC One X launched on AT&T last month.

"The HTC One X is touted as one of the best Android handsets on the market right now, and I certainly would not disagree," said 9to5 Google.

AT&T offers the HTC One X with a new two-year contract for just $199.

The smartphone is also available on Amazon.com with a $50 discount making it just $149. Unfortunately Amazon's version does not come with an unlocked boot loader that select HTC handsets include.

"HTC is committed to listening to users and delivering customer satisfaction," said HTC. "Since announcing our commitment to unlockable bootloaders, HTC has worked to enable our customers to unlock the bootloader on more than 45 devices over the past six months."

Due to some restrictions, some devices cannot participate in HTC's bootloader unlocking program, according to the company. But HTC stated that it is committed to assisting developers in unlocking bootloaders for HTC devices.

Specifications on the One X include a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch Super LCD display with 1280 x 720 pixels, an 8-megapixel camera that includes an ImageChip that kicks up picture processing. It is also a 4G LTE device and features Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
