'iZombie' Season 2 Cast News: Kristen Bell Joins Cast

A familiar voice is expected to join the upcoming return of "iZombie" season 2.

It was revealed that Kristen Bell will be joining the cast of "iZombie," a series produced by Rob Thomas. Bell had previously starred in a hit series produced by Thomas titled "Veronica Mars." With that, her appearance is expected to be a big deal on the series.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Bell will be doing a voice-over in an upcoming episode. It will be of a parody of the popular novel series "Fifty Shades of Grey." It was revealed that Liv, Rose McIver, will come across the character when she eats the brain of a librarian who is also the author of an erotic novel.

As reported by E! Online, she will be appearing in the episode titled "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter," which will air on Jan. 26.

It was also revealed that Kristen Bell will not be the first from the series "Veronica Mars" to join the "iZombie" cast. Several other stars, such as Ryan Hansen, Percy Daggs II, Daran Norris, Adam Rose, and David Starzyk, have also made cameos in the hit series.

In addition to stars from "Veronica Mars," the series has also featured many easter egg jokes that referred to the previous series. Thomas had revealed, "We had a 'Help me, Zombie Wan Kenobi' line that none of us remembered being inVeronica Mars, but there is a 'Help me, Mars Wan Kenobi' that somehow made it through. So I saw all these tweets like, 'Hey, what a great shout out!' Honestly it was just us screwing up and forgetting we already used that joke."

However, fans will have to wait a few episodes into the return to experience Bell once again. The midseason premiere of "iZombie" will have Liv on the set of a series titled "Zombie High."

"iZombie" season 2 will return on The CW this Jan. 12.
