Janet Jackson Clears Up Rumors Concerning Marriage

Janet Jackson, the 46-year-old pop star, recently revealed that she officially married billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana.

The Grammy award-winning singer and actress took to her website, janetjackson.com, to annonce that she and Al Mana have been married since 2012 and denies reports that they spent an extravagant amount of money on their ceremony.

"The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true," the note on Jackson's website titled "Wissam and Janet Happily Married" read. "Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony."

The note also revealed the extent of the newlywed's wedding gifts to one another.

"Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children's charities," the pair wrote in the note. "We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy. With love, Wissam and Janet."

Al Mana, 37, works in his family's business which he described in an interview with Harper's Bazaar in 2010.

"I work in a family business founded by my late father over 60 years ago. Today our group comprises over 50 companies in the Gulf region in real estate, automotive distribution, engineering and construction, retail, food services and media, and is managed by my two brothers and I," Jackson's third husband revealed in Harper's Bazaar.

"In 2004 I wanted to expand our retail division into luxury. Today, our luxury division comprises of over 40 stores in the Gulf, representing brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Hermès, Balenciaga, Chloé and Roberto Cavalli. We have also developed two Saks Fifth Avenue department stores, one in Dubai and the other in Bahrain, with plans to open more," he continued.

In the same interview with Harper's Bazaar, Al Mana described Jackson as his dream woman.

"I think a man's dream woman changes as he goes through different stages in his life," he told Harper's Bazaar. "I'm fortunate to be dating my dream woman now."
