Jennifer Lopez 'Doesn't Like Being Alone,' is Unsure of Marrying Casper Smart

Jennifer Lopez is happy with the way things are with boyfriend Casper Smart, but it wasn't too long ago that she was very unhappy about being single after her divorce from Marc Anthony. The performer recently revealed that she does not like being without a partner and spoke openly about where her relationship with Smart may be headed.

"I'm one of those people who does not like to be alone. I have no shame at saying that at this point in my life," Lopez said during a panel session for "American Idol." "I think we have to own who we are."

Lopez joined the show in 2011 after separating from Anthony. She also went on tour to start the next part of her life and calls 2011 a "transformative year in so many ways."

"I had just divorced, and I went on tour with the kids and it was just like, 'hoooo!' And I left 'Idol.' It's like all my security blankets were gone and I was out there doing something I had never done before," Lopez explained.

But she came back to "Idol" and has successfully hosted the show since 2011. She and Anthony share custody of twins Max and Emme, both 5. Now seemingly back to her old, or better, self, Anthony has been in a relationship with Smart for two years. The two performers are quite content with their relationship and have managed to have successful careers as well. Does Lopez think the relationship will lead to marriage?

"I don't know, I don't know," she said at the panel. "We'll see. I always believed in that institution. My parents were married for a very long time, for 35 years. I believe in it. It's difficult. I've had my challenges but at the same time I believe in love. That's the main thing."

"American Idol" just kicked off season 13 and airs on Fox.
