Jennifer Lopez: I Don't Like Being Alone, Uncertain About Marriage

Jennifer Lopez offered a candid look at the past two years that followed her divorce from Marc Anthony in an interview this week, admitting doubt about marrying for a fourth time.

The "American Idol" judge split from Anthony after eight years of marriage in 2012 before wrapping up her 10th season on "American Idol" and embarking on her first world tour.

"That was such a transformative year for me in so many ways," Lopez told reporters just before the season 13 premiere of "American Idol," according to People.com.

The singer shares two children with Anthony; five-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

"I had just divorced, I went on tour with the kids, and I left 'Idol,'" Lopez continued. "All my security blankets were gone, and I was out there doing something I had never done before. I was surrounded by love and family."

Throughout the life-changing year, Lopez said she grew as a person as well as an artist. However, the singer admitted that she prefers being in a relationship.

"I'm one of those people who does not like to be alone," she said, according to People. "I have no shame in saying that at this point in my life. I think we have to own who we are."

Today, the multi-platinum singer is in a relationship with Casper Smart, who she said is "fantastic" with her two children.

Nevertheless, Lopez is uncertain about marrying for what would be her fourth time.

"I don't know. We'll see," she said when asked about marrying Smart. "You know, I've always believed in that institution. I believe in it, but it is difficult. I've had my challenges, but at the same time I believe in love, and I think that is the main thing."

Meanwhile, Lopez has been busy promoting season 13 of "American Idol," including on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" where recalled her early days of fame.

"I just remember sitting on the plane and going, 'I was on Jay Leno. Oh my God,'" she recounted, according to the Huffington Post.

"American Idol" season 13 premieres on Jan. 15. This season will see the return of Keith Urban while Harry Connick Jr. has also joined the judge's table this year.
