Jeremy Lin is Recovering; Makes Appearance in Totally Awesome Hulk Series

The Brooklyn Nets are struggling to perform during crunch time. They've had many games this regular season involving crucial fourth quarter plays that didn't go their way.

According to head coach Kenny Atkinson, Jeremy Lin could help erase that problem once he's ready to put in more minutes and basically be at 100% health. Lin himself believes that he will soon get back to tip-top shape; just exactly how his teammates want him to be.

In a New York Post article by Brian Lewis, Jeremy Lin said "I'm fine. The performance staff did a great job, the strength coach and the trainers did an unbelievable job getting me healthy and right."

Lin played in the match against Orlando in a losing effort. The final score in that match was 111-118. Lopez led the team with 22 points, Whitehead had 8 assists and Trevor Booker had 9 rebounds. Lin played with limited minutes during that game, and said he didn't know he could play that game because his back was still uncomfortable.

Jeremy Lin missed 17 games due to a hamstring injury which he got last November 2. He came back to play against the Houston Rockets on December 12, but didn't play against the Lakers last Wednesday, December 14, due to back spasms.

The Brooklyn Nets currently have a standing of 7 wins and 18 losses, which puts them at 14th place in the Eastern Conference. Coach Atkinson attributes their poor performance to constant switching of lineups, not in small part due to Lin's absence.

Atkinson hopes that Lin will be 100% healthy soon enough, so that the team's execution will be solidified, especially during crucial end game situations.

The Brooklyn Nets will face the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, December 18, 6:00 PM ET at the Wells Fargo Center. The Sixers currently have the worst record in the Eastern Conference, with a standing of 8 wins and 20 losses.

When Will Lin Return

Kenny Atkinson said that Lin's return depends on two standpoints: medical and performance. He said he listens to what the doctors and the coaching staff say regarding when Lin should be reintegrated. For now, Lin is logging in fewer minutes, and this is likely going to increase gradually in light of his injuries.

Lin in Totally Awesome Hulk

In other news, Jeremy Lin appears in the cover of Marvel Comics' Totally Awesome Hulk. Lin sees this as a good opportunity for Asians to appear more in mainstream media and not just in the stereotypical manner. In Totally Awesome Hulk, the original Hulk Bruce Banner is actually replaced by an Asian named Amadeus Cho.
