Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson will reportedly wed in July, three years after the couple first got engaged.
In a recent interview the fashion mogul, 33, revealed that she was "close" to sending out wedding invitations and a new report claims she and Johnson, 34, have chosen a wedding date. The couple will reportedly exchange "I dos" before family and friends over the July 4 weekend in Santa Barbara, Calif.
"We are very close to sending out our invites," Simpson told USA Today at the White House Correspondents' Dinner earlier this month.
"I've been very picky on how I want everything to look and feel. Eric's family alone is almost 90 people, so it'll definitely be a big event," she added.
Simpson got engaged to the former NFL star in November 2010, five months after they began dating and they share two children, a daughter Maxwell, 2, and son Ace, 10 months. They initially hoped to wed in Capri, Italy, which reportedly holds fond memories for the couple, however they decided that it would be "too much" to ask their friends to fly to Europe, Us magazine reported.
The wedding will mark second marriages for the pair. Simpson was once married to singer Nick Lachey, while Johnson is divorced from Keri Johnson.
New details surrounding the Weight Watchers Ambassador's wedding dress have been revealed. A source claims she will not wear white.
"Jessica is having something unique made," the source said. "It will be very different from the Vera Wang she wore to wed Nick Lachey [in 2002]."
Johnson proposed to Simpson with a five-carat ruby Neil Lane ring months after meeting her. The couple plan on keeping their big day private.
Simpson's younger sister Ashlee recently announced her own engagement to Evan Ross, the son of legendary singer Diana Ross.
