Jodi Arias Trial: Arias Returned Rental Car With 'Kool-Aid' Stains in Seats

Jodi Arias returned the rental car she used after allegedly murdering boyfriend Travis Alexander with "Kool-Aid colored" stains, jurors learned yesterday. Arias is currently on trial for the gruesome murder of Alexander, her ex-boyfriend, and faces the death penalty if found guilty.

The Budget rental car company representative noted that there were "Kool-Aid colored stains" in the back seat of the white Ford Focus Arias rented. He also made a notation, stating that the floor mats were also missing, adding to the suspicion that Arias used the car as a getaway vehicle after murdering Alexander.

If she shot Alexander in the head, stabbed him 27 times, and slit his throat from ear to ear, Arias would have been covered in his blood. Crime scene photos showed a massive amount of blood covering the bathroom where he was murdered, as well as throughout the rest of the home.

Experts reported that based on their findings, it would have taken Arias only 106 seconds to kill Alexander. Experts were able to recreate the murder using photographs believed taken by Arias before, during, and after the attack, according to The Arizona Republic.

Jurors were shown the graphic images of Alexander in the shower moments before being attacked, and then one taken after the brutal murder. It was too much for Alexander's sisters, and they left the courtroom while the photos were being shown to the jury.

Roommates discovered Alexander's body after not hearing from him for a few days. When they appeared at the home, they found a grisly scene. Jurors asked Detective Esteban Flores exactly where the roommates were during the time of the murder and why they had not reported him missing.

"They believed he was in Mexico already," Flores said. He told jurors that Alexander had been planning a trip to Cancun at the time of his death, according to Radar Online.

"One was working, and the other was staying at his girlfriend's home, house sitting for her parents," Flores said about the roommates' whereabouts.

Arias' trial continues today.
